The Chot'ath [Chote-ath] are the gods of the universe where the Phylactery occurs. They are subbordinate to Dau'lush and the Aut'strii but outrank mortals [humans]. Chot'ath generally come in two categories: assigned and unassigned. Those assigned are charged with governing or manifesting a metaphysical concept. Unassigned Chot'ath have more free will to do as they please. Chot'ath are capable of having children with mortals who themselves can be assigned. Most Chot'ath has their assignment/concept, a title, and aspects signifying their existence or presence.
Most chot'ath have some degree of shapeshifting at their disposal leading to some very conflicting appearances.
The list below is evergrowing:
Obsidia Heliosuru More-More Tresla Monton Ike Blithebog Pihoihoi Delk Lupocite Thayilos Udf Thegnk Grube Futaaso D'arqane Demartesia Bile Bilial Draemon Vhyrehytt Mapinguari Dingonek Bin Manticorn

Obsidia Concept: Truth, Night Title: Moonbringer Aspects: Lupines Obsidian
Shadows Stars Moon Snakes
Relationships: Heliosuru (twin sister), Tresla (younger sister), More-More (niece), D'araqne (nephew), Demartesia (niece).
Personality: Obsidia is a calculated individual and at times relentless and sadistic in the truths he holds dear. However, he does show considerable remorse and is thrown into a deep depression when he realizes what he knows as truth is actually false.
Appearance: Obsidia usually appears either as a man with a cobra's head who glows like the moon. He also has another form like a purple stag which he uses as his steed. He can appear as a mixture of these two forms or as both simultaneously if he needs too.

Heliosuru Concept: Day, Lies Title: Kufr Aspects: Sun Lies Spider Beauty Sunstone Dandilions
Relationships: Obsidia (twin brother), Tresla (younger sister), More-More (daughter), D'arqane (son), Demartesia (daughter), Acephalous (baby-daddy), Draemon (baby daddy), Omegasuchus (archnemesis)
Personality: Heliosuru is possibly the most sadistic creature in the story. She delights in causing problems and is utterly self-serving. She is deeply fearful of Omegasuchus and only allies with him out of desperation. Ironically, her egoism later allows the chot'ath to be saved from Dau'lush.
Appearance: Unlike other chot'ath, Heliosuru likes to appear as human. In this form, she resembles an attractive woman of asiatic descent who has hints of albinism. In her normal form, her general figure remains the same. However, she grows three extra pairs of arms, two new eyes, displays a spider's mouth, and glows like the sun.

More-More Concept: Desperation Title: Heretic of the Oysters
Attributes: None Relationships: Heliosuru (Mother), Acephalous (Father), D'arqane (Brother), Demartesia (Sister), Tresla (Aunt)
Personality: More-More displays some points of irrational behavior or fantastical thinking. She rarely sees what she is doing as wrong but is just trying to find her place in the world. More-More is not evil per say but rather innocent if insane.
Appearance: Superficially, More-More resembles an attractive human female. But going in closer, one notices her kangaroo legs, having two palms to each hand [forming a folding shape] with five thumbs on each palm [no fingers], and her toes [on each foot] being merged into a single digit. Her face resembles either a crocodile or a cow with a single blind eye in the middle. Her hair has become an array of slug eyes. Her skin texture randomly alternates between burns, red leather, and growths resembling calcite on an oyster's shell. Most notably, she has five slimy white orbs which emerge from her back and are tethered there by white strands, these behave almost like balloons but arc back to the side, rather than upright.

Tresla Concept: Hope Title: None, though she is affectionately called "Whiskers".
Aspects: Daisies, Clouds, Cats, Moths, Flies, Sand
Relationships: Heliosuru (Sister), Obsidia (Brother), More-More (Niece), Demartesia (Niece), D'arqane (Nephew), Monton (Unclear), Ike (Unclear), Omegasuchus (Best Friend)
Personality: Tresla is one of the more naggingly optimistic characters and this is why she has attributes as flies and sand. Although she superficially supports doubts about Dau'lush. She later shows a far more pragmatic attitude about herself and realistic.
Appearance: As a human, Tresla resembles a woman of Asian descent and is almost identical to Heliosuru aside from being shorter. In her normal form, Tresla resembles a snow leopard with scales, a bat's wings, and a moth's proboscis. Her eyes are an icy blue color with no discernible pupils.

D'arqane Concept: Sense of self Aspects: Birds [specifically Ravens], Stars, Iron Title: Sky Raven, Gemini
Relationships: Heliosuru [Mother], Draemon [Father], Demartesia [Twin Sister], More-More [Sister], Tresla [Aunt]
Personality: D'arqane is a delusional chot'ath who wants nothing more than to deny his relationship to his mother. He represents how people perceive themselves and the lengths they will go to avoid the truth. This makes him a tad edgy and irritable, bordering on paranoid.
Appearance: D'arqane does not have a human form. He resembles a humanoid raven with six arms, four eyes, and a spider's mandibles flanking his beak. He also has two wings. He also has a large metal arch between his uppermost shoulders. Though appearing to be black-feathered, he is actually a very, very dark shade of red which only becomes apparent when near a light source.

Demartesia Concept: Things forgotten Title: The Troglodyte Tree, Gemini, Artist of Memory
Aspects: Trees [Juniper specifically], Memories, Silver, Darkness, the Wind
Relationships: Heliosuru [Mother], Draemon [Father], D'arqane [Twin Brother], More-More [Half-Sister], Tresla [Aunt]
Personality: Demartesia is quiet and reserved. She is a tree and does not move at all. She is very curious about the world around her but is only informed by the experience of someone else forgetting.
Appearance: Demartesia does not have a human form. She appears as a juniper tree growing in the roof of a cave with leaves not dissimilar to a maple with silver fringes. She is often surrounded by fallen leaves signifying someone remembering. She is unable to reach these leaves and forgets something remembered.

Blithebog
Concept: Fear Title: The Lonely Plural, the Toothless
Attributes: Swine, Topaz, Ginger, Gastropods,
Personality: Blithelog is a very lonesome creature. As he is fear he has a very frightful appearance and powers but that's all it real is, is appearance nothing of substance. Most of the other gods shun him because of his detestable, if impractical, powers. Because of these powers, Blithelog rarely is able to sleep and has become very mentally unhinged.
Appearance: Blithelog is able to shapeshift but not to the extent of his colleagues. Generally speaking, Blithelog appears as an emaciated human with jaundiced skin, a hunch back, unkempt fingernails, and the head of a warthog. In other instances, he appears as more of a slug with tentacles but the same head and color scheme.
His most striking feature is that he is constantly growing eyeless pig heads as tumors. These heads are blind and deaf, born sleeping but come into awareness of their loneliness soon after becoming conscious. After this, they will squeal/cry loudly waking up many more of their kind. This will reach a fever pitch until they all explode into balls of bile and pus.

Actually came up with a new one a few days ago:
Serket Concept: Knowledge, Senses Relationships: Omegasuchus (Brother), Abseneth (Alternate Personality)
Aspects: Grapes, Coffee
Notes: Serket's name is a play from the Egyptian goddess Serket whereas the character Serket is literally seen as providing sensor input for all creation through wiring [circuits]. This is also where her relationship with her brother comes from.
Serket draws heavy inspiration from the writings of philosopher and bishop George Berkeley.
Appearance: Serket resembles a tall woman or perhaps a scorpion. She has a phone jack for a stinger and AV cables for arms/hands.
Personality: Serket is a very isolated and awkward individual. She does want to better the world but sometimes too much knowledge is a bad thing. With her limited interactions, Serket is unaware of the existence of Abseneth.

Thegnek Concept: Doubt Title: None Relationships: Bin (Parent) Aspects: Straw, Toys, Flies
Notes: Thegnek's story is intended to borrow elements from Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and the Norse God Höðr.
Personality: Thegnek is a very self-assured creature and enjoys nitpicking everything around him, as is his purpose. He is the first of the Chot'ath to suspect that Dau'lush is a demiurge and not truly God.
Appearance: Thegnek is one of the smallest Chot'ath. His body is built like an infant and many note that his head and chest are too big to be propelled by his limbs. He is humanoid. He has three green beady eyes arranged in a triangle and the face of a weevil. He has three mohawks crossing his face with green fringes. His skin is black cloth and his body is filled with straw [he is literally a strawman]. His hands are like mittens.

Bin Concepts: Secrets Title: Bishop, Bane Drake
Aspects: None (yet), leaning towards dandelions and fireflies, maybe waterfowl,
Relationships: Thegnek (child),
Notes: Bin is named after Benjamin O'Regan. No, actually his appearance reminded me of a bishop so i named after the then Pontiff Benedict XVI.
Personality: Bin is fairly antisocial but he does so under orders of Dau'lush rather than choice or happenstance. He is superficially easily amused but is not talkative. Knowing things which no one else knows, he keeps his distance at all times.
Appearance: Bin appears as a large humanoid covered in black fur with a single eye in the middle of his forehead. His fingers are made of long barbed-whips. His mouth is like some sort of insect. His crown is a large glowing light-bulb like structure which glows giving him a kind of angelic aura, this being the source of his nickname of "Bishop".

Grube Concept: Shame Title: None Attributes: None Relationships: Blithelog (Brother)
Personality: Grube is a well-meaning individual but is deeply concerned by his appearance and easily embarrassed. He often dresses in fancy clothes (notably tuxedos) in order to compensate.
Appearance: Grube has a spider-like lower half, although he only has four legs not eight. His skin is leathery with a jaundice quality. His face resembles a pig's but is more like a rectangular prism. His hands are three-pronged pincers. Grube is morbidly obese with his gut nearly dragging across the ground. His eyes are green and as large as basketballs and extend past his skull (remember this).
When he is embarrassed (which is frequent), Grube shrinks in size and his voice raises corresponding pitches, except for his eyes. When he is relaxed, his chin grows to the point it might be mistaken for another leg and becomes difficult for him to carry.

Omegasuchus [Oh-May-Gah-Su-Kus] Concept: Death Title: None [yet], The Last
Attributes: Crocodiles, Rain,
Relationships: Unclear
Personality: Omegasuchus clearly carries a great deal of emotional baggage. While he is responsible for killing the other Chot'ath [by permission of Dau'lush] when they move out of line, he clearly regrets and questions these. Ultimately, this leads to a life marked by anxious paranoia but also a very dutiful outlook. He has also has much self-loathing.
Appearance: Omegasuchus resembles a luminescent cyan crocodile with an unfleshed skull and blue flame eyes. He later mutates into a form which resembles a green kaprosuchus form. [if anyone has my old Omegasuchus art, I will be eternally grateful].
Biography: At least at present, Omegasuchus has an unknown parentage but he might be the illegitimate child of Lushaka, the first Aut'strii. He describes himself as growing up in poverty and is the target of bullies, his faith keeps him afloat. As an adult, he becomes the Chot'ath of Death, a role that acts as a check against the power of the Aut'strii and other Chot'ath. This vocation makes Omegasuchus estranged from his colleagues, none of whom trust him. In particular, Heliosuru makes a habit of demonizing him amongst mortals and divine alike.
Omegasuchus' faith keeps him afloat but becomes embroiled with a [personal] existential crisis where he realizes his faith is more about making him feel comfortable than what actually is. During this time, he becomes close friends with Tresla. The two piece together evidence that Dau'lush is not the true god but a deimurge. Omegasuchus also has a rather fractured friendship with Obsidia and his "superior" Mhg.
By, as of now, unknown means Lushaka contacts Omegasuchus and validates the latter's conspiracy claims. Lushaka reveals that Dau'lush will eventually turn on his creation culminating in Omegasuchus taking his own life [after killing everyone else]. Omegasuchus and his allies lead an open revolt against their creator with Dau'lush [now incarnated as Hvrekhs Imperator] guarding the only portal that leads out of their dimension. In a desperate plea, the Chot'ath funnel their energies into Omegasuchus and their faith in him transforming him further.
However, their strength is not enough and Omegasuchus is defeated. With his final breath, Omegasuchus reveals that the chot'ath fighting in this revolt were actually illusions created by the Chot'ath to distract Dau'lush.
The real Chot'ath are greeted in the new dimension, our world, by Lushaka. Lushaka reveals that the portals exist within the dreams of a specific being born once a generation and she is in debt to a young boy, for allowing the chot'ath to survive. Realizing the possibility still exists of Dau'lush finding them, Heliosuru murders the boy. Omegasuchus realizes he is not responsible for death in this world and beats Heliosuru within an inch of her life but cannot bring himself to take another life. With the child dead, the chot'ath no longer exist within our dreams but physically exist within our world.
Omegasuchus makes a vow to guard his new home against any threats but will deal with them peacefully. He uses his powers to help bring agriculture to the people of the Earth, teaching them responsibility while maintaining his vigil.

Draemon Concept: Spoken Word, Jokes, Title: None (yet) Aspects: Undecided Family: Mapinguari [twin sister], Heliosuru [ex-partner], D'arqane [son], Demartesia [daughter] Appearance: Draemon appears as a hunchbacked humanoid with a torso like a glass frog, with blotches of this texture on his limbs. His head has two faces, both of a spotted hyena. His fur is also modeled after a spotted hyena but his fur is more of a platinum-blonde.
Personality: I am honestly struggling with this one. I do not know if he should be charismatic or shut in. He deeply misses Heliosuru despite hers being an abusive bitch. Moreover, he wants to be a father to his children who don't even know of his existence.
